just had a weird/cool situation with a middle-aged italian security guard telling me about all sorts of personal and cultural problems in LA

woo! finally checked in to my hotel in Pasadena. got a hot shower, got upgraded for free to one of their best suites

Rode south along the cliffs near Big Sur… so magnificent that seeing the Hearst castle afterwards was just amusing
